The Role of High Productivity Freight Vehicles in Metropolitan Areas: The Australian Experience

The tenth webinar, The Role of High Productivity Freight Vehicles in Metropolitan Areas: The Australian Experience was held on April 1, 2015. This webinar provided an overview of experiences in Performance Based Standards (PBS) and High Performance Freight Vehicles  (HPFVs) in Australian cities. The productivity benefits of PBS rigid vehicles as well as port container movements were presented. The safety performance of HPFVs as well as first and last mile access were provided. Issues associated with infrastructure management as well as community acceptance were also described.
