Freight Trip Generation Patterns in Developing Countries
The seventh webinar, Freight Trip Generation Patterns in Developing Countries was held on September 24, 2014. This webinar discussed the results of freight trip generation patterns in the cities of Chennai, India, and Medellín, Colombia. The Chennai results provided a fascinating view of the role played by non-motorized vehicle activity in a developing country.
The Medellín results were very interesting as the surveys collected data about freight trip generation (numbers of vehicle-trips) and freight generation (amount of tonnage). This webinar contributed to the transportation community’s understanding about urban freight activity throughout the world.
